Kiran Sharma is an artist, printmaker and poet from Meirionnydd.  She studied Fine Art (Painting from Nature) at Byam Shaw School of Art, London and Printmaking at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.

She is interested in figure drawing alongside  observing wave patterns in the elements; the made and the making.  Inspiration for the wave project stemmed originally from watching incense smoke waft through the air…

Responding artistically to the pattern, rhythm and flow of waves – observing, isolating and capturing these patterns as types and translating them into a repertoire of gestures has proved challenging. 

​

It led to the adoption of experimental drawing techniques, such as drawing ‘blind’ and interchanging hands to lend an unselfconscious immediacy to the process.  The direct printmaking methods of drypoint etching and monoprint have been utilised for similar reasons.
